Table and Trunk repurposed

So my project(s) for this weekend are the two guest room nightstands which I'm repurposing an old trunk and my grandmother side table.

I previously painted Mama Lee's side table to match my desk (see the link above) so the first thing I'll need to do is break out my paint remove.  Since I used a crackle finish it would not be a smooth surface if I just painted over it.

To begin - here are pictures of the "before".  Wish me luck!

and now.....drum roll please - it's amazing what a little white paint will do.
